The Tasmania Golf Club is situated on Barilla Bluff, a 15-minute drive east of the hobart CBD. This members-only club has a par-72, 18-hole, 6,200-metre golf course. It is one of three courses in Tasmania to be ranked in the top 100 in Australia.
With water on three sides and plenty of natural vegetation, the golf course is in a picturesque setting. There is a price to pay however. The slight elevation means that the golfer is exposed to the wind and the trees make it tight to negotiate. In contrast to the nearby Royal Hobart golf course, where the fairways are level, at Tasmania Golf Club you will have to contend with uphill, downhill and sidehill lies.
The fairways are lush and the greens are quick, with challenging bumps and dips. Altogether an excellent test of golf.
The clubhouse has the usual facilities.
At present, there is no waiting list and no joining fee for membership.
