St Michael’s Collegiate School
St Michael’s Collegiate School is an Anglican day and boarding school for girls with more than 900 enrolled students, from kindergarten to Year 12.
The school was established in 1892.
The main campuses are located in South Hobart, a few minutes’ walk from the city centre.
- The Early Learning Centre – for children from three years old up to Year 4
- Middle School – for Years 5 to 8
- Year 9 – a transition year between Middle School and Senior School
- Senior School – for Years 10 to 12
Collegiate has a proven academic record with more than 90% of students gaining university entrance.
On the main campus, the boarding house accommodates up to 50 students who are supervised and supported by a team of boarding supervisors.

There are Collegiate School teams covering a range of 21 sports. The School has excellent sporting facilities, including two sand-based hockey fields, four softball diamonds, two all-weather practice cricket nets, seven tennis and netball courts, a heated indoor swimming pool, a fully-equipped gymnasium and a boat club on the Derwent River.

Students with talents in music, drama and dance have access to facilities that include indoor and outdoor rehearsal and performance spaces, recording studios, state of the art lighting and sound equipment, sprung-floor dance and drama studios, and exhibition and reception areas.
